17th April, Maundy Thursday, 7.30pm – please see the sign-up list at the back of church (i) to take part in the Foot-Washing, and (ii) to ensure that the subsequent ‘Watch’ at the Altar of Repose is unbroken until midnight. Thank you.
18th April, Good Friday, 10.00am – Family Stations of the Cross for all.
18th April, Good Friday Liturgy, 2.00pm – including the dramatised Gospel reading: – it would be great to have a good range of people, from across our various congregations, to read the ‘parts’ – please speak to the Vicar to be involved.
19th April, Easter Vigil, 8.00pm – the first celebration of the Resurrection!
20th April, Easter Day – Said Mass at 8.00am; parish Easter Breakfast at 8.45am.
We are inviting you to bring hard-stemmed flowers (not daffodils) along to the Celebration Mass at 10.00am – to transform the Cross of Dereliction into the Cross of Resurrection… making such a beautiful image of our corporate Easter faith.
The Eucharist
The Eucharist is at the heart of our common life as God’s people. It is the celebration of the very deepest mystery of God’s love, in sending Jesus Christ to be born as one of us, to surrender himself to death on the cross for the sins of the whole world, and to rise from the grave so that we might share His risen life. This is the one act of worship which Jesus commanded his followers to make.
In it, we attend to the wisdom of God proclaimed from the Scriptures, and hear the story of his saving love demonstrated through history. In it, we go to God in prayer with the needs of the world and all its people on our hearts. In it, with bread and wine, we make the memorial of Christ’s death and resurrection. In it, we are fed with the Body and Blood of Christ, and are joined with him and with one another in communion. And from it, we go out with Christ’s grace and blessing to radiate His love in the world.
While the 1st Sunday of the month is usually our Family Eucharist, children and families can always be assured of a very warm welcome at all of our services. Baptisms can take place within the main Parish Eucharist, or at 12.15pm on the 2nd Sunday of the month.
Our Pew Sheet is always available at the back of the church, with notices of upcoming activities.
